Parents, often, pin hopes that their children will get into university.
University, somehow, seems to be the best route to success. To what extent is it true?
People, some, may argue that there're cases where people with low education still succeed in life. In fact, these uneducated yet famous people are doing exceedingly well. List the examples yourself. I shant spoonfeed u guys. However, let's ponder abt the ratio of successful people with high level of education vs successful people with low level of education. True that certificates aint everything, but it's still something. The chances of getting a job is, probably, higher for those graduates cos papers are highly worshipped by Singapore employers? I don't realli agree to paper qualification. It only goes to show how well the person can memorise facts, or how well the person can answer according to the standards by doing more 10 yrs series?
University students, graduates, PHD, Masters... Any big deal?
At least for me, there's a person, whom I highly respect for her intelligence and vast knowledge, was never a University student.
Perceptions still stay. University still sits firmly in its throne.
Last of all, parents, if you want your children to be in University so badly, dont grumble about the cost after they got in. Perhaps, this doesnt post much concern for me now. I had my fair shares to that.
