More and more sweetness into my breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast literally means “break the fast”. Waking up the next morning, we have in fact fasted for 6 to 8 hours and the body is low on energy reserves. How would our body react to activities if we were to fast another 6 hours without breakfast? Breakfast, our very first meal of the day, is essential in providing the loss of fuel!
Numeric scientific studies performed have shown that there are many benefits to having breakfast. Some of the benefits: Improves overall nutrition, improves ability to concentrate, improves ability to control weight and etc.
Of course, one has to watch his/her own intake. You can't be eating fried mee every morning and expect healthy living right.
The recent spell of hotter weather in Singapore has been driving many to crazy., at least for me. I am soaked with perspiration by the time I finish my make up. Coupled with the outbreak of the latest pandemic "swine flu", I would make conscious effort to move away from heaty stuff, consuming mostly "cooling" stuff. Hence, fruit spread is my latest love for breakfast. I simply love it.
I have tried a few brands, and I would still stick to European brands. Reason? It contains real fruit preserves, no artificial flavors, colors, or whatsoever; in short all natural! I would not short change my enjoyment with lower prices.
Each bottle costs about $4 plus. It can be somehow dull if I were to spread it on to bread everyday, neither do i want to keep it for too long. It's up to own creativity. Spread it on to waffles, donuts and even on to chicken patty like what I did; combining sweetness with saltiness. Try it! It may sound weird, even my mum would stick her tongue when I first experienced with this combination. It's more than westernized I guess. We have turkey with raspberry jam during Christmas, haven't we? So what's wrong to have chicken with Jam?
