Day 1 of training

Today marks the first day of half marathon run training!
I shall not be lazy but train hard. Hmm maybe not so hard afterall. Ha

School holiday continues...

Yes, school holiday is ending but still on. So free, we decided to head down to Raffles Place Park to queue for the SCMS 2011registration.
The response was overwhelming! So many actually went down to queue as well. Online registration is available but physical registrants will receive additional perks (only at today's event). * First 100 will receive a premium goodie bag worth $800. The next 900 will receive a goodie bag worth $400 * So attractive how not to be tempted.

Not too sure if it is true, I overheard that the first person in the queue came since the night before! In other words, he camped at the event venue. Maybe I should do the same as well since I've got a tent. ha

Hours passed but we were still queueing. YB reached since 10:10am while I arrived at 10:45am. We were crossing our fingers that we would be the first 1000 registrants so as to receive the extra goodie. Thankfully, we are! Anyway, the goodie aint that fantastic afterall. We didn't mind.

Runners take 4-5 hours to complete the marathon. We too, took 4-5 hours (5hrs for Yb and 4 for watatshi) to do the registration.

What exactly do I want?

What a question to kick start the new year.

Since I'm pretty free for the night, I shall spend some time coming up with the new year resolutions. It's better to be late than never.

Come to think about it, this is my 1st time doing it. Well, it's more effective to have the blueprint drawn than regret after the construction is completed, isn't it.

- To lose weight (what a bimbotic statement, but like i care)

- To put in more effort into cheering

- Love the people around me; my family, my friends, my students, my colleagues

- Be more holy (it has to start somewhere again); be more disciplined in bible reading, my prayer life & of course to attend church services more regularly

- Fulfill the duties of my job

Happy Holiday

I just found out that... I won't be going back to school till 28th Dec 2010.

Cheers to Happy Holiday.

What a relief. I kept thinking I need to go back from next week onwards. Hurray.

In addition to my happiness, in a few days time, I would be out of Singapore! Singapore is just too congested lately.

My little nephew is simply adorable. Oh well, actually he aint that little anymore; he is already 9 years old.

He called to ask if I would be free to bring him to the Book Fair tomorrow.

Certainly, at his service anytime.

While I was out today, I realized I need more clothes, new shoes..

At least I've got another week to do my shopping.

I am so sure that I am not going to like my credit card bills next month.

Lastly, I did something horrible to my hair, yet again. Expensive experience.

I am delighted/ frustrated/ stressed

If Friday was bad, today would be extremely terrible.

I am feeling super duper bloated and I totally despised it! Save me. M I just bloated or M I just fat. I think I've gained weight!! My genes allow me to gain 1 Kg easily within 1 day but they don't allow me to lose weight easily!

If Cynical is my first name then Junk FOod would be my middle name. If JUnk food is North Pole then I would be South POle cos we attract each other. =(

Yes, I am frustrated about it. Then I am stressed as I have no solution to losing weight.
Yet, when I think about newly paint room, I feel gay! PurpleHim turned my room into Purple! photos to be uploaded next time....Of course I didn't slack, I was busy tidying the place. my work desk..

I recently started a book on Buddhism. 3 more hours to end of school

Last Friday was Admin Day 1. Today and tomorrow are set aside for Admin Day 2 and 3 respectively.
Students celebrate as it means holidays for them while teachers are expected to come back as usual. Although we get to work for lesser hours, 8am to 1pm instead of 715am to 145pm, I would prefer to have normal sch days as I heart PE lessons! I dislike cooping myself in the staff room staring at the computer screen... It just makes me feel sleepy.

There is a big commotion going on in the staff room right now. I wonder if I will ever get into a dispute with someone at work next time. Well, maybe not in the near future. Having learnt some painful lessons from my previous job, I tried not to be close to my colleagues at work. Lesser contact = lesser friction. Take cautious that I do not go to extent of isolating myself from the rest! Some socialising is still necessary to build up teamwork and learn from one another. I always thought she is rather snobbish, but she is the one who is more rationale and calm. It's not her problem, but she offered to be the mediator. She is trying to solve the issue, while the other refuses to listen. The latter is just so fxxxing annoying.
This has absolutely nothing to do with me. I am not eavesdropping but they are just in front of my cubicle. It hit on me that I am like the one who is stubborn about the whole matter; refusing to listen. :x I am annoying as well.

I declare that today shall be a Happy Day! Why pull a grumpy face when I can look pretty (maybe not-so-ugly is a more appropriate description) by smiling? Don't be too harsh on myself and the people around me. So start Spreading LOVE noW!!!

One at a time. Take my time.

Over the years,my ability to multi-task has declined remarkably. It might not be the fault of aging, but the cause of bad karma. Eh, I only realised that it is true and relevant till it happened to me. I remembered mocking at my sis for not being able to whistle. Then before I knew it, I couldn't whistle anymore. Like how I mimicked the way my mum stammered,I got it in the end, especially in front of a huge crowd. Despite realizing it, I still commit the same sin.

I do not really sympathise with other people's plights and I am often very critical. I was pretty good at juggling a few matters at the same time in the past. I find it frustrating when there are people who can't. Also, it gets on my nerve whenever people can't understand certain information immediately; having to repeat and repeat before they get it. I did wrong. No one has the same thumb print; so is their abilities. It is never too late to discover the errors in your life and start making changes asap. Oh yes, I got the bad Karma.

There are a few matters bothering me lately. Some are relatively trivial while some are of high importance. Strangely, I am more troubled by the trivial matters!

When so many things come together at the same time, I find it hard to handle; I no longer can do multi-tasking.

I need to relax and be focused on one matter at a time.

sigh...Pulling a scopion is soooo difficult.. ok, this is minor.

God's love endures forever

God's unfailing love for His people; He is always there for us even when we are unaware of it. Acknowledge His presence, embrace His love and walk right in His ways. Ask Him for wisdom and He will surely render. Do not, in our own foolishness, depend on ourselves but to always look to Him for guidance. He will surely set the path right for His people.
The best way to start the day is seek God. Pray and read His words.

It can be quite shameful for me to proclaim that I am a Christian, yet not behaving like one. My will is so weak; succumbing to the temptations of the world. We fall into the traps of the devil; committing sins that are displeasing to God.

Nonetheless, I shall try again.

Carrying the burden is heavy. I've decided to drop it and it is such a relief. I feel lighter. Constant reminders are definitely needed to prevent myself from making the same errs.

I shall press on.... never too late to start afresh. It is not going to be a drastic renovation but step by step, I shall walk towards the right destination.

Today is Admin Day; a day for marking? Yeah, I am given the opportunity to mark papers! It is way better than rotting/ dozing off in office. Next, I shall knock off on time again today. I am suffering from sleep deprivation again. Sleeping at 3:30am is definitely not beneficial to a female's skin. In addition, my temper is intolerable when I do not sleep enough. Hence, I need to rush home to catch some sleep so that there is not "black face" during training. Ha :x

Differences

Without expectations, there won't be disappointment.
Staying in the comfort zone is the best choice for those who do not want to take the bitter pill.

That is the difference.

I m seen pushy, but think about it. How much time is left? You want to regret saying not enough was done when you hit 30? How many practices do you need before you think it's good enough? It will never be enough anyway. Seriously, the time is running out and I'm panicking.
Not as big? Go gym la, drink protein shake or something.
If I am not flexible, I try to stretch. To note, I used to fail at the sit-&-reach station. Not that I am super flexible now, at least my fingers can touch the floor. If my jumping is bad, I train my leg muscles.. etc.. If I am fat, oh well, this is something that I can't fix.
The excuse of size/ strength has been heard many times and it's like WTF to me already. Ya ya, PLB; Petty Little Bitch is what I am. You are one PLB as well; Petty Little Boy. Oh wells, I shall just try to pretend nothing has happened. Put on a pretentious smile. It is so tough to do it! I admit I can't. My emotions are all presented on my face. Indeed, I sound like a bitch.
Fuck. I shall just keep my fuck mouth shut; save all the suggestions since they wont be appreciated anyway. Just feeling tmd fed up. Majority wins.

Yes. This is what I'm feeling at the moment. WTF is wrong with me.
I like to use profanity and so what? Sorry I aint angel. Angels have wings but I don't. That is perhaps why I aint a good flyer.
It seems like I can explode anytime given the angsty state that I am in. I am freaking peeved with anything and everything that I am encountering. "Hello colleague, I don't really know you very well, so please don't pat on my shoulder!!!" I am so happy to see the little ones but definitely not you all! It seriously sux to be a noob in a new environment. The one who patted on my shoulder was also the one who threw into the sea with a life jacket which I didn't know how to use.
Could it be due to lack of sleep, hunger, BBP or ? It is highly possible that it is due to a combination of factors with the main ones being sleep deprivation and BBP.
I want to sleep badly...i keep eating to stay awake. sianx ah.. who in the right mind will eat titbits early in the morning? but I am doing so now!

I am yearning for my weekends. That's right I can smell them. Plans for my weekends: put on make up (with fakes lashes), paint nails, walk down the street in high heels & skirt, spend money on myself (shop!), enjoy a sumptuous meal (by myself?), catch a movie, SLEEP more, attend church services and.. keep my family company!
All planned for weekends!

Rider's journal- PArt 2
There are pros and cons to riding a bike.
Pros:
- Beat the traffic jam. Say good bye to the cars as you ride past them. Haha!
- Environmentally friendlier (as compared to cars since the exhaust pipe is smaller)
- Affordable (need not worry about installments unless you bought a Harley Davidson)
- "Free" parking in most places

Cons:
- You can't beat the weather. Rain is the fear of riders. We do not like to be roasted pigs as well under the scorching sun. Night & super early morning (without rain) are the best.
- Bad for skin. Forget about flawless skin if you want to ride a bike.
- Most cars don't give a damn about bikes. They assume that riders SHOULD ONLY be allowed to ride on the line. Riders pay road tax too! and we are TAUGHT to take up one lane for safety reasons. Bikes are cheap but not the riders' lives. We do not want to risk our lives by squeezing through the cars.

Some drivers are simply incorrigible. They do not give signals, force their way into the lane even when it is apparent that the oncoming vehicles are not giving way, high beam (F&*%$%$^&), tailgate, speed and they just don't give two hoots abt riders.. etc..
Some riders are troublemakers on the road as well. They speed, weave in & out of traffic, failed to give signals, etc..
In conclusion, road users should be more CONSIDERATE towards one another! Give way and obey traffic rules. Cherish your life by being more careful on the road and not committing stupid "bravery" acts.
*** Please take note that I used the word "some". Bad behavior of some irresponsible driver/s riders should not be a representative of the whole congregation. NOT all drivers & riders are behaving the way I've described. ONLY pertaining to SOME hai qun zhi ma..horse which does harm to the herd. All my friends are wonderful safe drivers!

Rider's journal or driver?

It was definitely not an easy affair for me to pass the driving/ riding test. I took 3 times to pass my driving and 2 times to get my riding licence. I admit I am deficient when it comes to multi-tasking. I took the manual course (both driving & riding) and I seriously thought there were just too many things to remember and to do for manual vehicles. E.g changing gears; so many steps needed just to change the gear. Clutch in--> change gear--> depress accelerator. 3 steps! This is just the tip of the ice berg. Let's not forget about the lane changing, blind spots checking, correct gears for the correct speeds and etc... oh well, I am SLOW! Things got slightly better when I was taking my Class 2B where certain knowledge from Class 3 was applicable. E.g Blind spots checking method and I was less afraid to be on the road. Yet, it was indeed just a slight improvement. I still encountered many problems while taking my Class 2B. All right, I am not strong; the school bike was heavy for me. The seat was somehow too high as well where tip toeing was the solution. With that, I had a difficult time balancing the bike at the initial, middle & end stage and I ALWAYS dropped my bike. Once or twice were fine and the instructors were kind to lift up the bike for me. However, imagine dropping it for @(**^^%#@ times, who would not be fed up? Then, I had to do it myself. I truly believed that they pretended not to witness my fall so as not to help me! ha Not being a sexist, but guys are better at it than ladies. Men don't think much; they just do it whereas women tend to analyse more; they think twice before doing anything. This proves that sometimes, it is wiser to do things without giving too much thoughts about it. Just like the slogan of NIKE that goes "Just do it".

Practice makes perfect and I am a believer of it. Without talent, hardwork is the key. Be humble and learn from the experienced ones. There are many who appear to be the "experienced" ones, but be wise! Choose the right one. Seek the Lord for wisdom and your path will be made smooth.

And so, I spent quite a hefty sum on both the riding n driving courses. To note, riding course isn't that dirt cheap; it is about 24-30 plus per lesson (for 1 hr plus). Of course, driving course is more; twice the amount.

Other than the monetary aspect, it is quite a hassle to attend the riding practical lessons. Proper attire and gears must be put on to ensure safety. From head to toe: Helmet, shades (act cool or protect eyes), gloves, long sleeve top, elbow guards, jeans/ long pants, knee guards, covered shoes & rain coats (only on rainy days). I had to go 15 mins earlier to put on all the necessary "equipment". Undoubtedly, safety is VERY important. HAIX, if only I had continued to obey these precautionary measures, I wouldn't have 2 burnt marks.

For females who wish to learn riding, be prepared to be the only few girls in the class. but, Don't be intimidated by the guys! The young guys are not that competent; they head for recklessness.

In any case, I still love riding. Love your ride=)

Changes
I have been wanting to write something, anything here but somehow there was either no inspiration or no time. It requires quite a bit of time for me to gather and organise the thoughts. I am pretty slow in this aspect. Perhaps, due to bo ta chek or no good in ta chek. Anyway, I highly doubt this entry is going to be coherent. I don't have much time to express myself!!! I need to rush off for lessons in 15 mins time and all the way till 145. Friday is my most relaxing day; only 4 periods but I have to now do relief for one teacher who is on MC and another who is leaving early due to sore throat.

Changes.. There were quite a few changes in my life for the past months and i'm glad to say that they are mostly good. My life is more fulfilling, more exciting than a few months back. No longer am I with the D company where everyday (almost) was a mad rush for me. The fast-pace FMCG industry was indeed a good learning platform as different challenges were encountered constantly. I got to interact with people from diverse walks of life, to be bombarded constantly with problems and problems again, to apply my marketing knowledge to real-life scenarios and etc. Yet, it was highly demanding which did not justify the ROI. The returns were just not satisfying and I hate facing the computer all day long. It just made me grew so horribly fat.
The 1 month plus break was good or should I say extremely good? I had the time to really sit down and think about the "end" that I want. The end = the kind of life that I want to lead in 10 years, 20 years down the road. The downside? I spent my savings.
I am having quite a good time in my new job.
Other changes? I own a bike now. I permed my hair. I put on lesser make up; near zero except for eyebrow. I dropped a jean size. I am back in cheer; more active. I am slightly more spiritual. I packed my room. I read more. I wear like I am going for training everyday. etc..
In conclusion, Life is good!
I will be on TV-ESPN with my dearest teammates tonight! ASTROS on 3!

ReUnion Dinner

Many thanks to my dear sister who is always so willing to spurgle on her SKU II. On that fateful day, the frequent shopper of Robinson was stocking up her SKU II supply, took part in a lucky draw. She did not think too much about it after that. To her greatest surprise, she won the 1st (BIG prize) lucky draw in her life- a 4 figures 8 course reunion dinner!
So, on the eve of Chinese New Year, instead of our usual stay-home steamboat dinner, we had it at Orchard Hotel where everything was on the house. Great. Not that the dinner was a big deal, but we never think lucky draw is real...

I need to breathe. One battle after another.
It was a superb hectic week due to the couple of hiccups here and there. Was rushing to roll out marketing activities, to do last month's closing, to plan in-coming shipment, to handle heart attacks from colleagues, to tackle last min cancellation of promotion activities & last min surge in sales order (where to find stocks when I've already order the purchase 3 months ago?!), to implement price adjustment, and of course to understand the structure of the 4 new stuff. Even making reservation has become part of my duties.
That's not all. I had to do a "little" .
Nevertheless, I won't allow myself to stay in office till wee hours like in the past. That's because, I believe in quality; not quantity. Craps, just an excuse.

The love that was embedded a long long time ago.. The source of motivation that kept me going even when I was weak. My eyes were fixed; determination was strong. I was so in love with it that everything about it is beautiful. I did not mind the long wait, only to hope that it will come to past. The process was tough yet sweet.

Of course, it has become a thing of the past. Now, my vision is blur, the will is weak and the focus is gone. I am sure that I won't have the drive for it anymore. My sis was ahead of me. Been there done that.

Like seriously, I'm surviving on sugars to stay awake. Popping down candies, sweets, gummies n lotsa of chocolate constantly ... oh. not forgetting my daily dosage of caffeine. Just so I can focus for that few mins.
Looks like I need to be more conscientious in brushing my set of not so pearl white teeth.

I gotta stay focused. All the deadlines are approaching soon. Nt becos I can't finish my own tasks, I have to do others' work as well. All craps bullshit claiming how efficient she is, in the end i'll be the one doing the planning anyway. To make things worse, some super experienced people simply can't make up their minds on what they want. Can't possibly change the plan every other day right? I thought I'm already kinda fickle minded, there are ppl who are worse.

Just whining. Nothing much constructive. In fact, I think I am talking crap. Haha. Most importantly, I am not mad or anything. I am cool about the whole situation.
Who has never make mistake in life, who has never boast, who has never put on the masquerade, the list goes on. Forgive and remember no more. To love is the resolution of the year. Tough isn't it? To love everyone including your enemies. It all starts with a smile. Tough isn't it? To smile in spite of fatigue.
If it is simple, there is no hatred!
Perhaps, the intake of sugars have indeed sweeten my life, such that I find peace and joy in life.
But, I am feeling kinda stressed. All of things are going through my mind now.

2009 was not exactly a good year for me. Whatever it is, it's over! A good start to the new year!

The sale is on and most of them are going on a crazy approach of 50% to 70% discount. Got a few good buys for myself. Happy like shit. Retail therapy is perfect for me, but I am often too lazy to do so. *Try picturing having to squeeze your way through the crowd* Anyway, Better check out the sale before it's gone.

Red and white Christmas
This year, Christmas came earlier than expected!

One day before..

You were late. Nonetheless, we studied. How nice to hit the books again. Macs + books = perfect match? Hm, I prefer coffee + books.
The fries are just not enough for two.

It got me started again as soon as I finished my revision. He struggled to study while my words kept going. Throwing out everything I want to say before I can get to see him again. Yet, I didn't get to vomit out enough as I always repeat the same thing more than twice. In the end, I only managed to touch on a few points.
Things are still complicated. Yet, my support will be rendered.

Exhausted by the mounting stress and frequent "surprises (or so-called shocks), I am yearning for a short get-away trip.
Will this coming trip bring any difference to my weary spirit? A definite 'no' won't be the answer. No matter what, anything free of charge is good. Yet, it is horrifying to be sharing room with someone whom I am not close to. She suggested we can split up the to-bring item list so as to lighten the bagguage. My oh my. California dreams or nightmare?
Personal trainer or sales person?

The experience is totally so not cool. I wasted 45mins or so listening to the "sales person" "preaching" about its packages. All she wanted, the end result, was to get the gullible one to blindly sign up for a package that this muddle-headed (assumed by sales person) might not even want .
So much for the so-called 2 weeks free trial. I have been on the lookout for some gym membership but the way she imposed her influence on me totally turned me off. Worse still, she "preached" like a bullet train who doesn't know the existence of full stops; no breather.
All advantages about their fitness centre. How awesome, why is it then not a compulsory activity for all Singaporeans?
It was the free trial that lured me into it. She proposed that I could actually use the free trial to offset some amount from the package. When I firmly insisted that I only wanted to go for the free trials first, she got another person to process the pass for us.
Her foresight is sooo short-term and she just lost a potential customer.
I am not condemning the gym but the sales person. I am so not going to Cali (familiar?). though the free trial pass is in my hands.
The consolation?: Free analysis.And fact for the day is that my fat content is in fact lower than the norms!

These phrases seem over-powering; the choice of words used are harsh but truly, it reflects the reality of mankinds. Nobody would dare proclaim they commit none from the ones mentioned.

I aint saying that I've committed all of the above! To some, yes, I admit. It hit me that I have actually neglected the basics of living like a Christian. It's been a long time since I feel like one. Bad protrayal. Once again, I feel like an infant.

The lack of understanding puts us in the similar deja vu situation. Don't you think a solution is needed? Go Science lab get one? or Optical shop?

I recited the pledge and I felt great, once again reminding myself what it means to be a Singaporean.

To commemorate Singapore's 44th independence day, we got a room in Crowne Plaza Hotel. Wells, supposedly, being patrioted citizens, we planned to recite the pledge together at that specific timing with the rest of the nation.

When the auspicious time is finally up, I was the only one who recited! My sister was hurrily calling his hubby to inform that it's time to recite. My little nephews and niece were busy with ? Aint too sure. Lastly, my mum was looking out of the window, hoping for more fireworks. Yeah, we get to see the fireworks from our hotel room, from far and it's very far. Oh, my nephews and niece were staring at planes. Ha

So much for wanting to celebrate NDp together. Nevertheless, we are going and should be going to book a room near the floating platform the year to come.

Time passes very quickly, often so quickly that I can't believe I am already one year old in this company. (a few more days to 1 year old, 18th Aug to be exact) Someone commented "no more newbie ah, better dont make mistake". Seriously, I agree to it as well. If I still continue to make the same mistakes, what is the disparity between the one year ago R and the current me?

The most obvious disparity must be the darker eye bags that I am having now.

Life seems somehow different lately.

It used to be a dream but now a hope. I like it this way. I itch for the days where I can get to see you. Once or twice a week, it is just not enough. Nevertheless, I will still try to make time for you. Tensed as I may be, as I am still not very accustomed to you, I will do better the next time. =)

Feeling the wings
Strangely, as I was watching Harry Potter yesterday night(Saturday), images of me lying on the hospital bed flashed by. Isn't it weird?
Ha. It so happened that Hogwarts students had been petrified and were sent to the hospital. That was why I started to imagine myself lying in the hospital ward.
The thought of it indeed scared me to a great extent. I paused and began to think about life.
Time seems to be moving faster than I wish lately. Sooner or later, this scene would happen and by then it will be too late for me to cherish my life more.
What's the point when everything will come to an end?
Relieving the burden and feeling lighter (not physically though) as if wings have been attached to my back.

A weary soul.
Every morning, I wake up hoping it's a Saturday.
Realizing it's not, I would comtemplate if I should take a one day leave.
5 hours are not enough for me anymore. I really want to sleep. It always gets better once I reach office. On a happier note, my colleague got us McBreakfast. Cool. I usually have mine at home which means I had breakfast twice today! so stuffed.

Despite the spread of the influenza H1N1 virus worldwide, my sister is going on a holiday tomorrow! What a last minute decision. She only got to tell us last night. I have not had the chance to list down the things I would want her to get for me. Well, she's been feeling blue about her job. It's a good treat for herself.

Guess I will be visting the specialist soon. It's getting serious.

Life of a blood sucker
5 days of not seeing the sun, the scorching afternoon sun and I am really yearning to see it.
I am as white as a sheet of paper now. Easily mistaken as a blood sucker. Yes, I am indeed one cold blooded creature with no smile on my blank sheet. I find it even difficult to do so lately. Going nuts soon. It's almost like 8am to 7pm everyday plus occassionally 8am to 9pm? Not that I mind, I just need to get some sunlight at times.
Oh, wipe off ur retard face now! It gets on my nerves whenever I look into the mirror. Freak! Guess I have gone ku ku, so mad that I keep reprimanding myself so many times in the mirror.
The Saturday sun is disappearing, I better act quickly. To be continued.

I think I rattled too much. Your day hasn't started (with your eyes half closed and mind still in the la la dream land), yet I still spoke like a 2Gb/3Gb ram. Ha. It seems surreal. I do not know how this feeling came about.
